What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is a co-creative relationship between a coach and a client, wherein clients bring to sessions the challenges they wish to overcome, the habits they want to change, the goals they want to achieve, and coaches ask the powerful questions and challenge clients into thinking about things in a way that they might not have thought about before.  Coaches help clients to see things outside the box.  Coaches challenge limiting beliefs and motivate clients to do more than they might do on their own.  This is what gives the coaching relationship value.

Why would someone need a coach?

People can benefit from the value of coaching in all areas of life.  Most coaches have a niche that they focus on.  Mine is coaching lawyers and professionals to listen to themselves and have the courage to do what it is that they truly want to do with their lives.  Most coaches can coach many people on many issues.  However, as a coach, I focus on what it is that is most important to you.  You drive the agenda and tell me what you want to get out of a session.  You decide what we are going to tackle together.  Whether it is being more effective at networking or finding the courage to follow your heart to your own practice, I have the ability to coach you through it by challenging you when you make excuses, motivating you when it seems overwhelming, cheerleading when you recognize something important to your success or move foward in achieving a dream, and giving you permission to craft the life YOU want now.

If I hire a coach, how does it all work?

Coaching sessions are typically held by phone.  They are assigned to a set appointment that is typically 45 minutes per session.  You may coach one to four times per month with email support in between sessions.  A coaching agreement will be arranged prior to your first session, according to your preferences.

Anything that is discussed in a coaching session is treated as strictly confidential.

Is coaching just another type of therapy?

Not at all.  Coaching is different from therapy and is something entirely separate.  Coaches do not attempt to deal with past issues.  They do not diagnose or treat a client.  They are not qualified to do so and they do not wish to delve into that part of any person's life.  Rather, coaches work with highly functioning, successful people who are ready to do some conscious craftmanship to create the lives they want just as they want them.  It is about moving hurdles out of the way and inviting success into your life.

If a coach believes that something more than coaching is required, he or she will refer a client to a professional who is licensed to help.

Is coaching expensive?

Coaching is an investment in yourself.  It is for those who want to propel themselves into a success that they have never known.  It is a process that has intrinsic value that can't be measured.  As your coach, I am drawing upon my training and skill in coaching, my years of experience in the professional world and my other life experience and knowledge.  Coaches use a great deal of intuition to formulate questions that challenge you and move you beyond that which you ever believed was possible.

There are several options available if you are interested in coaching.  You can choose to coach one to four times per month.  You can also choose a group coaching format if you have a group to coach with.  In the future, I will also offer a running group of my own that anyone can join into on a month to month basis.  You can also opt to coach on a one time basis, paying as you go.

If you are interested in coaching, contact me to see if we're a good fit.  I'll provide a consultation, and we can discuss packages that are suitable to your readiness to invest in the process.

What makes coaching work?

The co-creative process is powerful.  A coach is able to ask questions that land in a way which supports a client to come to their own solutions.  Clients typically find that they leave a session feeling that they have experienced a shift in the way they were thinking about something such that they see a new way of tackling an issue or creating something new in their lives.  The fact that the ideas come from the client means that the mind and the heart are both in agreement, which is what leads us to action.  We are in alignment with our desires, and that creates the doing and invites success.

Give it a try.  I invite you for a consultation.
